Volcan De La Muerte
$150,000.00
Volcan De La Muerte is a painting inspired by a prehistoric Earth with rough terrains, hostile environments, and creatures of massive proportions. Many may wonder what life would be like here if not for the mass extinction of the dinosaurs long ago, and some even wish they could see a real dinosaur in today’s time. However, the death of the dinosaurs cleared the way for the rise of mammals and eventually, humans. The slate was cleared to make way for the rise of sentient life, which raises an interesting question. If we were wiped out by ourselves or some cataclysmic event, what would grow to take our place ? While all we can do is assume, it’s always a topic that can arouse a plethora of ideas and imaginative reflection. Take into account that the world was once ruled by dinosaurs, which were replaced by small mammals upon extinction. Then, analogously look at the human race, and creatures that are small to us, insects. Perhaps, the downfall of mammals due to humans or disaster could make way for a new wave of world ruling insects. Possibilities are truly endless, and that is what Volcan De La Muerte is supposed to remind us of. The Earth is constantly changing, and its power is beyond our control. In the blink of an eye, we have destroyed much of what was a sanctuary for carbon based life in our solar system, and somewhere along our relatively short timeline of existence in the universe, there will be a breaking point if we don’t advance to other planets as well as save our own.
